Over the past decade, the quality of the lineups has been improving year upon year, and Croatia's beachside locations have always been stunning, so get your tickets booked and glow paint packed for some fun in the sun at a Croatian music fest this summer. Goulash Disko
If you are looking for something Croatian, then check out Goulash Disko, its entirely crowdfunded and sponsor-free, a truly independent festival that cares about nothing but music. This year the coastal town of Komiža will play host, and there are some pretty idyllic beaches nearby which will blow your mind. Instead of your usual festivals, often run by UK based groups, this festival is authentically Croatian and is actively trying to be more integrated into the community that lives in this small fishing village. Expect a highly eclectic lineup, with all kinds of music from Tropical grooves, organica, gipsy punk, Arab disco, swing folk, tribal techno and everything in between.
Seasplash Festival
This one's for reggae and dub fans. If you are looking for a chilled out vibe, that feels more tropical than Meddetereanen then head down to Seasplash festival this summer. The city of Šibenik will be packed with speakers for this high-quality lineup including the likes of Lee' Scratch' Perry, Mad Professor and Scientist and a top rate supporting cast which includes Dub Pistols, Vibronics, Edo Maajka, Cause4Concern, Janaka Selekta, KRAK in DUB, Jah Free, Digitron Sound System, Warrior Charge Sound System, Moby Stick, Kali Fat Dub, Banana Zvuk, Boca sound system, Sap Leo, Inka, Pluvio, Fullstep Phil.
Hospitality on the Beach
This one is best for all you drum n bass heads out there. Legendary south London based record label, Hospital Records, will be showcasing DJ Marky, Mefjus, Andy C, Friction, SPY, DJ Die, Fabio, Noisia, Alix Perez, Makoto and many more this year. The party will be happening at Tisno's Garden on the Croatian coast, so they'll be no shortage of crystal clear water and pine forests to play in.
Dekmantel Selectors
This festival is all about underground electronic music. This year's line up includes Albion, Andy Votel, Ben UFO, Donato Dozzy, Francois K, Colleen 'Cosmo' Murphy, Demdike Stare, John Gómez, Mark Seven, Objekt, Palms Trax, Vladimir Ivkovic, Young Marco and many more. The festival began life in Amsterdam but has migrated to sunnier climes this summer along the Dalmatian coast, in the famous Tisno Garden Resort. The festival is for serious music lovers so hurry up and get your ticket, as there are just 2000 spots up for grabs.
