Guide of Fethiye

Fethiye is a small town on the southwest coast of Turkey on a lovely area of coastline full of nature and enchanting beauty. Fethiye also offers the traveller plenty of interesting history, because of the remains of the ancient city of Lycia.

Places to visit

Walking through the alleys you can find the Tomb of Amintas, which is the symbol of the city. They are tombs carved into the rock in huge blocks. The remains of the Fortress on the Acropolis of Telmessos, which is a naval base used by the Knights of Rhodes and The Sarcophagus, is decorated with reliefs that tell stories of warriors. The Eski Cami Mosque dates back to the late 1700s and the Turkish bath Hamami is an extraordinarily beautiful structure with 14 domes and arches.

Beaches

Oludeniz is a beach not to be missed, it has turquoise sea and is tinged with wonderful colours at sunset. Fethiye occupies an optimal position about 50 km from Dalaman airport a little north of the city. It is also close to the island of Rhodes, which is clearly visible from the coast on a clear day.
