The main port on the island of Agistri, is in Skala, the main town. There are daily connections with Piraeus and the journey takes about two hours. The island is also connected to other islands of the Saronic Gulf, and the ferries connecting Agistri with Piraeus go as far as Aegina. Methana is an ancient city on the Peloponnese peninsula, well known for its thermal waters. It is rich in volcanoes and gas, like methane, which comes out of the surrounding mountains.
