Dublin port has five passenger terminals, located in different areas, so be sure to find out from which terminal your ferry leaves! Terminals 1,2 and 5 are close together, and terminals 3 and 4 are elsewhere.
Getting to and from the port
By car, Dublin Port is situated about 2.7km from the centre and is well signposted, take the East Wall Road, North Wall Quay or the Thomas Clarke Bridge. Dublin Tunnel, located on the perimeter of the Port estate and provides quick access to the M50 & M1 motorways, which are the main routes to the North and South of the country.
Dublin Port is served by public bus 53, which operates from Talbot St. in the centre of town, to Terminal Road South. There is also an express shuttle service to Terminal 1, provided by Irish Ferries, and this service is also useful for closeby Terminals 2 and 5. The fare is €3.50 for an adult, and €2.00 for a child and leaves from Mortons Bus Stop, located on Westmoreland Street at 7 am, 12.30 pm and 2 pm to the terminal. From Terminal 1, back to the city centre, the bus also has drop off points at Connolly & Westmoreland Street.
The Luas Red Line tram stop at The Point operates seven days a week, located opposite the entrance to Dublin Port on East Wall Road. Take the Luas line to The Point, and Dublin Port estate is a 7-minute walk (550m). Walking times from The Point to Dublin Port’s passenger terminals vary, terminals 3 and 4 are less than a ten-minute walk from The Point. But terminals 1,2 and 5 are all over 3 kilometres from The Point and are better reached by bus, taxi or car.
Dublin International Airport is around a 20-minute drive from the ferry terminals, and by foot, you can take bus 53 from Tolka Quay into the city centre, then change to the 747 bus which services the airport. The journey takes between 45 minutes and an hour.
General Car Parking is available at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Short Term parking is on a pay & display basis and costs €2.00 per hour. Long Term parking costs €9.00 per day or €50.00 per week.
